Please note that in the terminology of this editor, I make a differentiation between "stored documents" (or simply "documents") and "text files". A stored document is basically a HyperCard card, or the contents thereof. A text file is a Macintosh file external to the editor, that is, one resident as a text file on your hard disk. When you save from HTML.edit, you save a "stored document" to a "text file".
Generally speaking, your text files will be named with a suffix of “.html” (such as “Index.html”) in order for them to be recognized as html files by your server.
